O The Sword � uma banda de stoner Doom/Stoner Metal de Austin, Texas. Desde o seu in�cio a banda foi composta pelo vocalista e guitarrista John D. Cronise, guitarrista Kyle Shutt e o baixista Bryan Richie, e atualmente em turn� inclui baterista Fender Kevin ap�s a sa�da de Trivett Wingo, em novembro de 2010. A banda come�ou a trabalhar em suas primeiras faixas e lan�ou tr�s demos entre 2003 e 2005. Em 2006, vem o seu primeiro �lbum, Age Of Winters. Com uma sonoridade voltada para o Doom/Stoner Metal, o conjunto chamou a aten��o da m�dia especializada e de nomes como James Hetfield e Lars Ulrich, do Metallica, que fizeram quest�o de elogiar o trabalho do quarteto. Com uma produ��o propositalmente retr�, o The Sword faz o ouvinte mergulhar fundo no Heavy Metal Old Scholl, com �timos riffs. Em 2008, vem o segundo disco, Gods Of The Earth, que inicia com um instrumental brilhante de The Sundering e segue dando um grande peso em todo o disco, uma diferen�a para o debut, esse �lbum est� ainda mais "Sabbathico", desde o riffs perfeitos at� os vocais, mais pr�ximos de Ozzy.
